PerGoSeeMo Psalm 12

Psalm 12. Ephesians 6:13-17

War ‘gainst the Prince of the Air rages on.

Peasant-turned-princess pulled from the sidelines.

Off to the armory for one belt of truth.

Why yes, it’s quite stylin’,

But mostly so you’ll not be caught with your pants down.

The enemy’s known for his sly use of lies.

Now for the shirt of mail.

Righteous!

Precisely.

Wear godliness, princess. It looks well on you.

            Now guard your heart:

On your arm, shield of faith.

Keep it steeped in the promises your King has given,

And fiery arrows have nothing to burn.

            Now guard your mind:

Don the helm of salvation.

The Crown Prince himself had it made just for you –

Forged with his own hands, at no small cost of blood.

So much for a foot soldier…

He gave it gladly.

            Take up your sword –

The King’s Spirit’s own weapon:

The blade of his word that can pierce you soul-deep.

Step into boots that will carry you through

Any battle assigned – be at peace,

Knowing you’re full protected.

            Go now, my warrior,

Beloved daughter.

Stand and be brave, and remember

We’ve already won.
