“Commentary” or “Giveaway Tease, Part 2”

Two days until the release of my fairytale novella, “The Swan Prince (Book One of the Wilderhark Tales)”!!! And we’re going to celebrate with a week-long extravaganza!

Starting on launch day (May 31st), I’m hosting a big ol’ raffle-type giveaway here on the Ever On Word blog. I call it “Seven Swans a-Winning”. (What can I say? “The 12 Days of Christmas” is one of my all-time favorite carols.)

Everyone will be given oodles of chances to win exclusive, custom-made (by moi!), totally-boss-sauce prizes – a different winner every day for seven days straight! – by engaging in any or all of the following activities:

[Action] = [Chances to Win]

Every mention/link to the giveaway on Facebook, Twitter, or blog = 1

An addition of “The Swan Prince” to your Goodreads “To Read” shelf * = 1

Schedule a day with me to host me on your blog for an author interview, character interview, or guest post ** = 3

Every purchase of an e-book copy of “The Swan Prince” = 3

Every purchase of a paperback copy of “The Swan Prince” = 7

* This is something you can do right now! Just let me know in the comments below that you’ve done it, and that’s one instance of your name in the prize pool already!

** You can get an early start with this one, too! Send me a message through my contact page, and we’ll settle on a date (which, by the way, does not have to be during the giveaway week, if that timeframe isn’t convenient for you). Provide the interview questions and/or topic you’d like me to guest blog about, I’ll type like a maniac, and wha-bam – you’re part of the “Wilderhark Tales” phenomenon. (: (And if an advance review and/or interview has already appeared on your blog, don’t worry, you’re covered. Automatic name in hat for you. ^-^)

Your chances to win will accumulate over the seven days of the giveaway (didn’t win on Day One? You’ve still got your rollover entries for the days to come, and you can continue earning more), so the sooner you jump on board, the better your odds of winning!

In yesterday’s post, I told you about the prizes that’ll go out to the winners of giveaway days 1 through 4. Today, we preview prizes 5 and 6.

Any movie-watchers out there enjoy a good director’s and/or actors’ commentary every now and again? I’ve certainly been known to. It’s fun to learn what all was going through the art-maker’s heads during the aforementioned making of aforesaid art.

Can you guess where I’m going with this?

That’s right: Day Five’s winner will receive an author “series of comments, explanations, or annotations”! Seven selected chapters from “The Swan Prince”, with my revealing innermost thoughts alongside them. Where did I come up with the names for people and places? Which scenes were late additions to the story, and which scenes never made it in? What in the world was I thinking when…? Most of the world may never know, but the owner of this special prize shall!

But hey – y’know what’s even cooler than notes from the person who wrote the book? How about a dialogue from the people who lived the book?

Made by hand with tender love and care. ^-^

“*Gasp* You don’t mean…?!

I do indeed! The prize for Day Six is a CHARACTER commentary! Same seven selected “Swan Prince” chapters, now picked apart by a pair of the main characters looking back on the story from just beyond its end, taking the reader deeper into their not-so-private thoughts than ever before! (Heck, I learned new stuff just by transcribing the conversation, and I’m supposed to know virtually everything!) This is the kind of gem you normally have to be a part of my club of mostly imaginary friends to have access to, and I can’t wait to ship it into the hands of a very lucky someone!

Thus concludes today’s preview of the awesomeness to come. Tune in for another tease tomorrow, as we continue counting down until May 31st… RELEASE DAY!

    • *checks rules* By golly, you totally could. How’s THAT for motivation to get your name in the hat a hundred times?!
Better get on it, people — Kimberly’s fixing to make off with the whole pot! XD

  1. Kimberly Kay, I hope you realize I fully plan on winning at least one of these. You can’t have them all! 😉
